The House
Casa Khalesa is a 3 bedroom traditional Sicilian farmhouse on the edge of the village of Testa dell’Acqua, in the hills above Noto. The house overlooks rolling countryside down to the shores of the Ionian Sea. There is a large paved terrace in the front of the house. The garden is planted with a variety of olive and fruit trees, as well as plants and flowers indigenous to this part of Sicily.
Bookbinding & Conservation Studio
Our studio is fully equipped for bookbinding and paper conservation. It is in a rural setting, with easy access to the 5 Baroque cities of Southern Sicily, Mount Etna, lovely beaches and 1 hour’s drive from Catania airport.
The Garden & Our Produce
The garden highlights the indigenous flora of the wild land surrounding Casa Khalesa. We have olives, lemons, oranges, apricots, figs, grapefruit, pears, & prickly pear. In the spring and summer we have a vegetable garden, and herbs are plentiful all year round. Sunlight and shade pervade the different levels, and a cooling lawn just below the house and main terrace makes the perfect spot for reading or snoozing!
